Since 1967, the Consumer Electronics Show, CES, has been the showcase of consumer technology innovation. Over the years, it has become the largest and most influential technology event on the planet. CES 2019, which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, and began on January 8th and ended January 11th, showcased more than 4,500 exhibiting companies, including manufacturers, developers and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content, technology delivery systems and more, with more than 250 conference sessions and more than 180,000 attendees from all over the world.

There were over 170 exhibitors in the drone category at the annual conference this year. In attendance and showcasing a variety of impressive drone products, was EWATT Aerospace, with the new ESPECT quadcopter, which is optimized for industrial inspection applications. Espect, first released in foreign markets, has the inherent advantage of “high flexibility, rapid response capability”. Liu Chang, head of the US Company, said that Espect can complete the transportation state to takeoff in just one minute.

This “innate” ability to respond quickly has also made Espect one of the stars of this CES show. From the perspective of Espect's own weight, it weighs only 3.2 kilograms and has a running time of up to 30 minutes (loading 400 grams). It can flexibly change different loads such as 4K visible light, 10x zoom camera and infrared thermal imaging camera with one button. In addition, Espect's arms and landing gear can be folded, the body is small, and the installation and preparation work is easy and very simple.

Espect's small multi-rotor UAV is equipped with forward and lower-view infrared obstacle avoidance systems. Liu Chang introduced, "Espect's down-view infrared sensor measures the distance by measuring the change in reflected light intensity. When flying below 10m, Espect will automatically adjust the height. It can cope with different flight environments, and can also perform adaptive flight in a complex environment to achieve the target mission safely and stably."

In addition, Evat's effective integration makes Espect an industrial-grade feature with the convenience of consumer-grade operation. Liu Chang said that Espect has been widely used in the Chinese market for power inspection, communication base station inspection, police reconnaissance law enforcement, fire investigation, search and rescue and other fields.

EWATT was also showcasing the gas-powered fixed-wing VTOL, the EWG-G3V. The EWG-G3V has a twin tail boom that makes the UAV stable and very responsive to rudder movements and adding to its impressive features is the fully autonomous operations that include take-off, transition and landing with the capability of conducting certain recovery actions autonomously, such as re-igniting the engine.

This aircraft has an all-carbon composite structure that offers solid performance, even in extreme weather conditions. With its modular design, this aircraft makes it easier to transport, with all components fitting into one compact drone case.

In recent years, drones have quietly penetrated into people's lives, whether in folding and portable, in the control experience, or in the application has a leap forward. Over the years, CES has brought us a good technology feast. Looking at the trend from 2019CES, drones will be smarter on the basis of stable performance and add portability to industrial applications.

Liu Chang, head of EWATT USA, said: "The 5G era is coming soon. As a vertical application industry of 5G, drone networking will definitely be another starting point for the development of drones, using 5G low latency and large bandwidth. And edge computing capabilities to achieve application scenarios such as power and communication intelligent inspection. EWATT has established a 5G network UAV innovation laboratory with China's largest communication operator, focusing on the development of 5G UAVs in different industries. Innovation and application. As one of the top ten brands of Chinese drones, EWATT is developing and commercializing innovative technologies that are shaping the future of the global civil UAV industry."
